Hello, im new here, also im new in cars overall. It all started about a year ago, when i inhered a 1971 ford maverick from my grandfather. Its not in good shape, its been in storage for about 10 years and well rusted.

Its registered 120hp - v6 but im not sure what kind of engine it is.

I was wondering how much it will cost to lighten this baby up, to redo the paintjob(i wanna make him more aggresive yellow, he's currently faded yellow) , putting new exhaust pipes, double, so we can get meaner sound.

and what kind of tires i should have, how big how wide, currently he is on ugly stock 14" tires, in bad shape! ill also have to buy new rims.

And i was offered an '87 mustang gt engine v8, would that be a good choice for my car?

Sorry for the grammar errors, im from iceland so my english is not that good, hope someone can help me!

    :D:oops:

Welcome to the board. The 87 v8 is a good engine. There are some parts you will need to change it over. If you use the search function you will find lots of past threads on engine swaps, and all your other questions. Your Maverick has a straight 6, not a v6. Hard to tell what it will cost as I'm sure the prices there are different than the prices here.:Welcome:
