finally got around to snapping some pics of my comet. The only work ive done on it so far is a new radiator and some minor engine tune-up(which im still doing).

so these pictures show all the good bits and all the bad. i didnt snap any pics of the engine but will if people are interested in seeing the same old i6 200 theyve probably seen before.

well its going to be my daily driver for the foreseable future. I inted to slowly restore it to as close to original condition as i can.

i would like to fab a custom grille for it though but first i need to get the dimensions of the original grille. then once i get the interior and body back in shape im probably going to drop in a bigger engine and get some real muscle under the hood.

My brother-in-law(next best thing to a mechanic in the family) thinks i should drop in a 5.0 mustang engine and cut in a manual floor shifter for it. seems like a good idea to me. but then again after working on my comet with me he wants to go buy a pinto...

Sweet car! It doesn't look like there are too many problems with the body, so 1/2 the battle is already won! On the V8 or I6 question, that's a matter of personal preference. I've had both and either engine will move the car, but I just prefer the sound and feel of the V8 myself. Check the tech section and you'll find all the information you will ever need about the swap if you decide to go that way.

As far as your brother in law wanting to build a pinto goes, if he gets one tell him to look for a Mustang II parts car with the V8 already in it. The parts are a direct interchange and he won't have to hunt everything down.
