I plan on cutting into my tower walls to make room for the motor here in the coming weeks. I looked at some pictures on an older thread, and it doesn't look to hard of a task. I suppose if I get the welds done correctly there wont be a huge problem. With this I am looking at buying a cheap set of headers from summit for my 351w. I was wondering if there is any other changes that I should be looking into when installing these headers?

Summit headers won't fit a 351 without smashing them. Had to grind on the steering box also

Dont expect to get header clearance with a tower shave. What you get is more room to change plugs. The headers still sit down close to the frame rails (kinda hard to move them) because of the way the exhaust ports are situated on the heads.
Do you have power steering?? If so you will need the drop down bracket for the power steering ram. Also the drivers header has one tube that will make contact with the pitman arm when making left turns. You may want to clearance it once installed.

No power steering. What do you mean by clearance the pitman arm? Do both sets of headers need smashed or just the driver side?

The pitman arm on the driver side will hit the header tube when you make a left turn. Most just beat the tube with a hammer to clearance it so you can turn the wheel fully to the left. With the summitt headers your going to have more clearance issues than just the pitman arm. My Sprint came with a set of summitt headers on it (it has a 351W in it)Engine and headers were in the sprint when I purchased it. The headers have been brutalized with a BFH by the swap monkey who installed the engine. I would recommend a set of Crites headers or Doug Thorley headers for your application. The summitt ones will give you fits...Good luck!!!
