My 72 Grabber came with a shoud, but it was all busted up and i removed it. I have been driving it without it, but i wanna get another one.. My question is.. My car DID NOT come with factory air, I bought a Aftermarket AC unit that came out of a 72 Grabber, that im going to in stall in my Grabber... Do i need to get a shroud that has factory AC or WITHOUT factory AC???

    Thanks!
    Chaz..

I would say WITH factory AC in order to make sure you clear the compressor.

I wud think the fac. shrouds might be the same, Im not sure. I wud also think that any shroud u can find in gud condx. - grab it. Some of the long time Mav\Comet guru's have a definitive answer. My car has fac air; I believe any shroud is more efficient than just open fan. Also, there's the safety issue of a open fan. IMO try to find one.

i don't run a shroud at all. as long as you have a good fan to pull enough air......but there is that safety issue as previously stated. all i can say is my car runs at 195 degrees when its 90 outside. i run a plastic flex-a-lite fan blade.

I don't think my car ever had a shroud and mine run's great. I use a Summit 6-blade fan now, soon-to-be an electric fan.

Well i found out my "TEMP" light worked. I had to sit in line in traffic for 10 mins in 96 degree weather and NO SHROUD and the TEMP light started to flicker. Luckly as it came on, i got to drive and it went away.
