head gaskets, regular or high performance

Was i better off getting the regualr and save some money? i just got the high perofrmance head gasket (for 5 more hp)

 

most name brand head gaskets are pretty generic from one to another, the biggest difference in head gaskets is when you get into the "normal/generic" ones vs. ones that have already been compressed. basicly, it affects the compression ratio outcome. unless you're running 12:1 or higher compression, id just buy some fel-pro's from advance or w/e local parts house u have close

 

What is also the torque sequence of the heads.

I see intake and main bearing, am i not looking in the right spot?

 

heads are the same principle, start in the center and work your way out

the differance in the felpro hi performance and the regular is this

the regular gasket has a tin fire ring.

the hi performance gasket has a thicker steel fire ring.so it will be more resistant to blowing under heavy use

 

I never had good luck with the hp gaskets. I use just a plain graphite gasket.

 

Me too. The Felpro Print o seal HP gaskets suck with aluminum heads. Replaced em with the expanded graphite O.E. gasket, sprayed with Kopper-cote and ain't had to touch em in 5 years.
