Getting some e7s (3 angle valve job and milled)
    650 holley single pump
Plan on the torker 289 for an intake
    cam specs are on sig.

Can my car handle the torker 289?

Dont want to throw this together and have it run like crap:naughty: should i search for a doublepump or a 750 holley? or will i be fine.

My only concern is will i have the right carb for the intake.

You'd do better with a smaller carb. Like a 570 Street Avenger. Bigger is not always better when it comes to carb sizing.

I ran a cam very similar, on torker289, 600 dp holley, and it ran GREAT! No stumbles, pulled hard from idle up to 5500 or 6000. Had a nice little lope. my cam was the Edelbrock Performer Plus...270/280, Lift .448/.472 I originally ran it on a 600 edelbrock 1406, but outgrew it when I added the 1.7 rockers. then woke it back up with the dp holley.

And it ran even better when I put the 1.7 rockers on it. Of course, the roller cam heads had roller cam-strength springs, which ate my flat-tappet lifters. My mistake. Don't make it. Match the springs to the cam and lifters.

No, I'm not kiddin. I'll bet the 600's secondaries never opened either. Holley puts the stiffest sec springs in their carbs, if you want the secondaries to come in just after nailin the pedal, you have to use a lighter spring. And what makes you think you have a 650 ? What's the list number ?

the reason that the car didnt run as well with the 600 carb is that it was not tuned well enough to run on your motor. the theory is the smaller the cfm the beter your motor will run in the lower rpm range. and thats the range that we spend most of our time driving in. on a 302, 600 cfm is enough for it to rev up to 6000 rpm with out runnig our of air. if you looking for the optimum carb then get the smallest one that will meet the maximum rpm needs for your motor.

holey has kit that you can get to put the ford kick down lever on. it replaces the throttle blade shaft with one that has the correct linkages on it to work with the ford kickdown

Justin, I'm running a H-272-2 cam, 272 and 284 duration, 484 & 512 lift, which is a little bigger than yours, with an old 600 cfm Ford Holley. I have an old Offenhauser 360 intake. It is not as tall as the Torker, but still is a single plane. Mine has a good lumpy idle, and plenty of power all the way through the rpm's. I've got a 650 Holley I need to put a kit in and put on, because the Ford Holley doesn't have any adjustments other than idle speed. I think it will run even better if I can get a little idle mixture adjustment, and maybe up the jets a notch or two.

I know this for the carb but the actual linkage itself im afraid will not work properly due to the height of the intake

also im not sure that the position on the throttle cable bracket will work with the intake:16suspect

you will have extend the shift rod. cut and put a sleve over it and weld it up. youll need to do some figureing out on how much longer it needs to be.

You will probly have to modify the bracket,or make your own,or go with an aftermarket cable setup.

Or just get rid of the kickdown lever altogether. I got rid of mine when I first got the car, and many guys on here have done the same.

Getting it to work with the torker, with the extra height AND that twisted top where the carb mounts will make it a chore to get the kickdown to fit.
