I have a 1995 Ford Mustang 302 Block. It is in my 1975 Ford Maverick. The car was previously a 250 and I'm getting close to completing the build. I need to know what brackets to use for alternator (original alternator) and brackets for power steering pump (original). I do have installed the appropriate timing cover with front mounted dipstick and reverse flow water pump. My question is what mounting brackets should I use? My request is does anyone have it for sale? I am nowhere near a junkyard and cannot simply go pick them up. Anyone with any ideas? I'm good with either original Ford or aftermarket stuff and I would also love pictures of where specifically they bolt to the block.

    thanks all

I just used original mid-70s V8 alternator brackets with the early water pump. If your using the late model water pump that may not work for you. Have seen people fab their own with a couple pieces of 1/8" steel and a turnbuckle (for adjustment). Sorry, can't help with the power steering pump.

If you are not concerned with originality, why not go with a late model serpentine set-up? I believe that is what you would need to use that water pump you have and it would be easy to get one of the newer high output alternators. You could probably find what you need at a salvage yard pretty cheap ... grab everything at one time.

Thanks for reading the whole thing for me Frank ...:rofl2:

I was on just one cup of coffee when I replied ... much more awake now. :coffee:

You list your locale as Canada MB ... what is that? Manitoba? I image that going to the junkyard right now is more a question of "how frozen is everything?" and "will the dogsled make it there and back?" ;)

    Sorry ... couldn't resist. :thumbs2:

want to see my truck? jk.
actually there is a pile of snow but it is more of a time issue in Manitoba i would need 3 hrs of driving time to get to the closest yard, we also live in the snow/salt belt and as such there are not many 1970s anything around. long ago got turned into cavilers. i was hopping someone would have this stuff lying around and for sale. i still hope. thanks for the information.

I'd bet the late 60s-early 70s Mustang brackets are the same or close to what a Mav uses. One of the on-line Mustang supply houses would have them.
