So, since I'm planning to have my new Edelbrock Carb / Intake installed, I starting thinking that it's time to get rid of the points & condenser, and step up to electronic ignition. I wanted to get your input on this. I've been leaning towards getting a Pertronix street/strip billet distributor with the new Ignitor III. If I get this, which model is correct for my 302? anyone have a part #? also, any other product suggestions and information would be appreciated. Thanks

There is a lot of options. I like the Dura-spark distributor and the HEI 4 pin module. Or the above and a regular stock dura-spark box. Using whatever perfomance coil you like that is right for your application.
I use the 4 pin module because on my truck I burnt up the resisstor wire a couple years ago and everything I could read on the 4 pin said it could take 12 volts and whatever coil I wanted to use.
Runs great and I can get replacement parts at about any parts store in the country and it'll be in stock

I got-to-tell you, I agree with the four pin module and the stock DSII distributor. It doesn't have any fancy stuff on it but it is simple to build and rugged as they come if you use a big enough heat sink.

The above set-up I mentioned seems to have all the perks of the Duraspark system, but all tucked away in the distributor for a clean look?. I don't understand why so many have the box to take up space under the hood plus I don't think it looks that great.

Yep, I ran the GM module on my Maverick for a while a few years ago, then put it on my 5.0 powered Fiat Spider. Works great.
