Sorry it took so long to post but Ive had computer problems. Made it home in my "new" 75 mav with no problems{1300 miles}. All I did was change the oil, put 4 new tires on an tuned it up. Thanks to Advance Auto of Boulder for use of thier parking lot. She ran like the proverbial sewing machine and averaged just under 25 MPG{2506cyl}, had to push her 70 to 75 MPH all the way thru FT. Worth/Dallas or risk being ran down, MANIACS! I am quite pleased with it and feel I got a great car for the price. I will post some pics as soon as I figure out this confounded scanner.

Thanks Maverick5946, it was quite an adventure. A pleasant one thanks to the sound mech. condition of this car in particular and the simplicity and reliability of mav/comets in general. I was impressed with the number of friendly, helpful people I met along the way and also the number of folks who approached me at gas stations with fond memories of mavericks, also several offers to purchase it.

Thats always a neat thing when people come up and talk about the "I remember when" stories.

So, you journeyed from where? to where?

Congratulations. (y) I wish I had the courage you have. My car is still sitting 3 hours at my parent's house because I am afraid to drive it home to my place. I am too used to a new car. I need more faith in my little beast.

Traveled from Longmont CO.{35 miles N of Denver} to Mt.Olive MS.{65 miles S of Jackson} after 28 hour bus ride. Left MS. @ 6:00PM 5/20 arrived back @ 1:30AM. 5/24. Trip fueled by A:dreams B:Caffeine C:Good faith D:Overtaxed savings E:Overpriced gas! Wouldnt try it unless I was confident in my mechanical skills, which I am. Even considering this I Realize I got lucky. Only had 1 change of clothes. Thats all that would fit after I packed new distributor. plugs{pregapped},wires, fuel filter, rotor, jb weld, duct tape, basic sae tools etc. in my bucketboss gatemouth "carryon bag". Its a bit~# livin on a budget.:D
