I found a good deal on a Edelbrock #1406 600 CFM Carburator New, so I went ahead and bought it. Now that I've gone and done it, I"ll be needing an intake to go with it, I was thinking between the Edelbrock #2121 or the #7121. This is going to be installed on a 302 with the only mod thus far being dual exhaust, future mods to come. I know the #2121 powerband is idle - 5500 RPM's and the #7121's power band is 1500-6500 RPM's. So does that mean if I got the #7121 my take off would suffer compared to the #2121? Opinions / suggestions are needed. Thanks
The 2121 is like a stock replacement intake only it's aluminum. The 7121 would be my choice because it has a higher rise for the carb to sit on. I don't think you would lose any takeoff with the 7121. It would also be much better suited to future mods such as headers and camshaft change. Just my .02
For my future reference will there be any hood clearance problems with any of those mentioned above stock engine and hood? clint
