Harbor Freight has them, surprisingly. Not sure of the quality though, probably want to get a better one eventually, but if I had to install one right away I'd probably go there first, get it installed, then thumb through the Summit catalog later...
By Thursday doesnt leave much time. Its supposed to be labeled clearly too. Did you consider where you are going to mount it? through the reflector in your tail light will save your tail panel and make removal easy if it will fit there.
yes, if you don't run a second wire to the alternator, it will kill the battery but not the alternator, and engine will keep running. I ran a 10 gauge wire along with the battery cable all the way back to the trunk. Then grounded it to the frame at the trunk.
Probably for a 1st time at the track they will let you run and just tell you that you need it, its not like you have a 10s car, but it is always nice to have the right stuff
thanks guys for all the info . . . looks like I won't be able to install it in time. As dkstuck mentioned it will be a little involved getting the alt to wire in there as well. I'm gonna have to fix that when I go to Bryant's shop next week, he said he'll help me with it. I'll just tell the tech guy that I wasn't able to do it in time (I bought the switch for $5 at harbor freight (thanks Drew)
the harbor freight switch doesnt pass tech. something about being all plastic and the switch key thing being removeable. fibertech in santee has the right switch that you will need. you should look into the flameing river remote mount switches also. they give you more flexability on where you can put it.
dang it . . . ok, I'll have to stop by there . . . the flaming river one is a little expensive, I believe it was $150
