I'm going to fix the red car up since it has so much heritage behind it, but the black car may end up being sold to help fund the red one. The fairlane is my dad's. A guy that we know was going to fix it up but decided to give it to us instead so we went and picked it up and it's been sitting ever since. Dad just recently found a free 351W so he's getting parts together and is planning on building a hot motor for it and putting a straight axle under it. We've both always been big fans of the old Altered wheelbase cars and Gassers.

    ----Plans for the red car----
Paint (Either comp orange, or the original red)

Steering (it has a manual gearbox that is worn out so i need to figure something out if my wife is going to race it. I've got a pinto that i was going to steal the rack out of but have absolutely no idea how to do it so we'll see if it ever happens lol. i may end up just going with 6cl springs and 2pc leaves in the rear)

Engine (i'd like to do a 408, but may end up doing a 383 since good heads are REALLY expensive lol.)

Trans (Bulletproof C4 with a mild stall around 2500-3k)

Wheels ( Most likely torque thrusts, or new cragars *17"*)

new gearset (my 3rd member that has the 4.62's right now whines like crazy. I'll most likely do another set 4.62's and in the third member that has my 300's in it do a set of 3.50's or 3.73's)

Grabber rear spoiler, and possibly a mustang front spoiler

Driving lights (most likely a small aftermarket billet lights recessed behind the grill. I've had really good luck with laser stars on my banshee, and know people who run them on their sand rails as well.)

new interior (probably a nice racing bucket and re upholster the rear seat. I also want to put better seat belts in it all around.

I'm sure that there are more things that i will run into along the way, and it will be a long time before i get finished with it if ever, but that's just some of the stuff that I would do in a perfect world *money * lol. It runs mid 8's right now like it sits with a mild 351W. At a minimum it will get freshened up and a good set of heads.

Anyone need a spare 71 comet? lol

    Welcome to the board!

Man, that video made me remember how much I miss riding crotch rockets.

I gave it all up and gave my bike away when I got married. It was the "responsible" thing to do.

Then I got my wife's great-grandmothers Maverick and am now in the process of spraying it to 500 hp. Sounds responsible, doesn't it?
