for the bottom piece, push it back and up all in one motion. after that you'll seat the bolts for the back rest part of the seat

Went out and snapped a few pics for you since my seats are out.

Mine is a '77, but they should all be made the same way...sorry if theyre not :(

There is a bar that runs right behind the fabric in the front part of the lower seat that you can press back on that will unlock the seat from the mount(one on each side) and lift up at the same time to unlock the seat...just run your hand across it and you'll feel it.

The back seat isnt aligned with the bolts...lol

    Is it buckets or bench?

If its a bench seat then move the seat all the way forward...take out the 2 bolts on each side(the welds on the nuts may break, so you may have to get them from under the car also), then move the seat all the way back and take out the 2 front ones(one on each side).

I STRONGLY suggest that you get someone to help you if its a bench seat, the rails can tear through carpet and anything else that gets in its way on the way out (y)

I thought all Maverick/Comets seats had nuts on the underside of the floor pans, bucket or bench??

yeah, theres nuts under the car, bolts run through the top of the rails, through the floor pans and the nut is under the car...3 of the nuts were welded to the floor pan while the 4th one broke while I was trying to turn it. :yup:
