Have a questions about the fuel pump situation in my setup. Since I'm gonna be running E85 can I still run a regular aftermarket fuel pump. For my setup I was looking at something in the 170gph range. It's gonna be a 331 with a supercharger (I'm sounding like a broken record, I know). happy new year!
I found one holley makes for a little over $400. Edelbrock makes one too for about the same price. Both are mechanical and both need a regulator. I haven't searched for electric ones but they might be cheaper. The mechanical ones are 200gph+

I was wondering, are the electric pumps always loud? That's really my main reason of wanting to stay away from them.
Mine was on the frame and wasnt very loud at all on rubber mounts. You'll never hear it over a blown 331 anyhow.
different brands and different pumps make different levels of noise. mallory pumps are the quietest ones ive ever heard. you can just barely hear one when the it has power and there is no other noise. as soon as you start your motor. you wont hear them. my expericence with the newer holleys like the one you pointed out is that they are very quiet also.

super pumps has a hyd pump that monuts to stock pump setup will feed a 2000hp motor will work with any type fuel,costs about 250 will last forever ,check summit ,they have them ,this is the real deal i have 1 used it all season no problems,needs a reg, they offer 1 for it also, also put 1 on my 750 hp bbc car it runs 9.20s 1/4 mile ,im sold on the4m will never buy another pump

elec. is nice but if it fails your stuck ,with the stock location 1 go to autozone get a stock 1 and go for 18.00 ,electric will cost you 60 for a junk 1 at autozone ,and the hose will be different size and more than likely you will have aircraft fitting on it ,so you have to wait for 1 to come in ,witch is a couple days, i try to stay with something i know in a pinch i can fix on the road with local parts,ive been racing for 30 yrs ,my old street car ran 8.80s 1/4 on motor ,to be really honest most electric pumps that flow enough gallons arent made for alot of street use unless there intank ,witch the fuel keeps them cool,yea you can use them ,but id want 1 that would do whatever i wanted to do in the future any motor combo,and that was made to run days at a time ,not buy 1 that is made for racing and linited street use,the 1 i showed will runs for years with out problems and if it does there is 3 parts to replace and its just like new...in fact i got 3 electric pumps with stuck motors ill sell to any one who sez there easy to rebuild ,i dont have any super pumps that need it and have never had to,i run e85 in our maverick,and with the bbc motor, i build my own carbs also,and by the way you can run this pump for fuel injection with no return line if you use there reg.,for fuel injection ,so in other words you can use your stock tank lets say in a 71 maverick ,bolt in a 5.0 motor and put this pump on ,hook up the stock line and then the reg. and then to the injection and run ,no bypass to tank needed
