here are some pics of the finished product...as you can see i fogot to cover up the K&N oil filter.....the stock intake will be swaped out for a edlebrock intake next week.....its basically stock motor except for the RV cam for more lowend and midrange muscle and the .06 bore, it has a total of 312 cubic inches......pops is goona help me drop it in soon as i get some more parts
Looks NICE Is that a Professional Products balancer? It looks nice against that blue engine. What kind of radiator are you running? I have heard that being bored over that much may cause a warm running engine. I am running .040 over and have had no problems, but I also have an oversized aluminum radiator. Have fun dropping it in and keep your knuckles away from the transmission bell housing. That little nick cost me a week lost working on the car, a couple of stitches, and a visit to the Emergency room.
Nice Who makes that balancer? It looks like the one that my engine builder put on my Cleveland. I can't think of the brand, right now, but it had weights that bolt on plus he gave me a little white plastic spacer for the pulley. Added: Yep, just read Scoopers reply - Professional Products is what my balancer is.
i found a alminum 2 row radiator made by griffin for 200$ havent ordered it yet though.....i have to get an oil cooler too
I bought an aluminum one from Afco - it is a crossflow design but with the Ford location inlet/outlets. You might want to check the current price on the Afco.
would it be ok to run a 300 cfm 2bbl autolite on it?.....the 2bbl would only be temporary until i can get my hands on a 4bbl....i already have the adaptor to put a 2bbl on a 4bbl intake
I just checked Summit. They have an amazing amount of different radiators for really decent prices. Depends on what you're looking for. If I recall, Summit is where I got mine from. My Afco was a universal racing radiator that fits between the 26 1/2 inch inside frame dimensions. I have to make custom mounts but I know it was well under 200.00 dollars. Now if you're looking for direct fit/OEM type, the price is much more.
300 cfm will not be too much fun, but I guess it would work for the short term. Just when you get used to it, swap out that carb for something in the 600-650 range and you will be very surprised at how much it wakes up.
i was thinking sumthin like 480-500, i herd 600-650 is too much for a stock motor.....i dont think the motor will need that much
600 is just right for stock and will give you a little room to grow. Edelbrock 1406 is a good starter 600 cfm 4-barrel. Easy to install, easy to tune. And works great on a stock engine.
