The MSD box , 2 step, and coil will work. The distributor and wires will not work. The wires have the wrong ends

You may be able to as long as the distributor you buy has the HEI style pegs for the ignition. I dont anything about GM (government motors) so I dont know which angle the spark plug wires will have on them, but I do know you dont have to use MSD wires with the 6AL box. You can always sell them on ebay and buy the correct wires for your setup.

I put a cheap ebay special Pro Comp Billet distributor on my 302. I have had MSD on my other vehicles before. But to tell you the truth the Pro comp is just as good. as long as you don't have clearance issues they work great. but the cap is Chevy style with the coil in it. and you with have to use plug wires for a Chevy v-8. Did i mention i only paid $65 for it shipped to my door. Look one up and see what you think. Mine has a 60k coil and it is one wire hook up. 2 if u have a tach. I Stand by them. cheap alternative that seems to last.:D

The pro-comp components are all made in China and do not have the best quality standards. Some people get them and have no problem with them but the internet is also filled with complaints about their poor quality and quickly failing parts...
So be careful you might get a whole lot more than you bargained for.

Also you can get a later model ford cap and adaptor that use the HEI style plugs on it and you can use the MSD plug wire kit too.

All you need is the cap and rotor kit and the adaptor I posted here If you want to go with a duraspart II setup

I wouldnt buy pro-comp. setting the quality issues aside:

The difference is not in the electronics. The difference is in what you cant see. Its called it the advance curves. Pro-comp is the bottom of the barrel mass produced chinese product. Tolerances are so wide and sloppy that no two distributors have the same advances out of the box. Any person going from points to pro-comp would not say anything but good things because anything other than points is going to see great. The point is that for a few dollars more you can double the quality and get a proper advance curve made for our cars. Pro-comp uses the same advance curves for ford as they do for chevy and chrysler
