fuel gauge????

    my fuel gauge just plain is not working i have checked the connection at the sending unit and inside the trunk where there is a connector and behind the gauge cluster but its not working what should i do next to fix it???

    ok could that be the only thing thou is there anything else i should try first thou??? where do i find a new one at??

    autokrafters maybe. and there are places that rebuild them too. just do a google search

    corrosion on connections or broken wire possibly, but i would venture a guess that it is the sending unit it self. there is a brand new(reproduction) one on eBay right now, its for a 71-74 and its $75. + shipping $8.75

    Also check the voltage reg under the dash,but if it's not working at all, it is the sending unit.. I bought the one off ebay.. It's from auto krafters...

    I'm guessing you checked for voltage to the sending unit and under the dash...
    Mine worked but didn't read right,turned out to be a bad voltage regulator...

    yea the needle is all the way past E and it hasnt worked since i bought the cal a coupe weeks ago ok then ill look for a new sending unit then

    The sending unit on ebay is only 3 bucks cheaper than if you bought it direct from autokrafters,but 3 bucks is 3 bucks.... I just got mine in the mail today and it looks like a good product...... Good luck and let us know how it works out for you....
