can i put a factory duraspark ignition system from a 78' fairmont[302] on my 74' maverick [302].......is there and differance in wiring. the diagrams i have pulled up so far are from ford trucks.....it looks easy to hook everything up. i will be using the DSII distributor as well as the ignition modual.

Yes you can. There are several diagrams on the net and probably on this site on the correct way to do it. I have done it a couple of times n different engines. Mostly F100's but never on a Maverick...yet.

They also make ignition units that will drop right in your distributor and replace points. Unless you already have the duraspark stuff you may check the prices at an autostore. I know the junk yards in my area think they are selling gold with used parts these days.
