I haven't been on in a few months. Just not in to it like i was. I need something to get me motovated again. I went to local junk yard thursday to look at some stuff. There was a v8 maverick there. I went back this morning to get the crossmember, bellybar and motor mounts off of it. Well this is my luck, i walked down the row where it was and two guys where do what i was going to do. A day late and dollar short this is my luck. On the bright side, i didn't have to freeze my @ss off.
you know lack of motivation has been going around here on the board. Bryant has a a good cure, maybe he'll offer you his services of motivation.
You need to figure out what the main purpose of you buying the Maverick was. I bought it to fix up so I could take my son out in parades and car shows and stuff....I eventually lost sight of that and the car sat over the entire summer, then when the car shows and such started showing up at the end of summer I remembered why I bought the car in the first place. Now its sitting out in the garage in pieces...and its discouraging because(like was said above) I dont have the funds to replace the tranny...so now it sits for now.
I know what you mean about funding, I lost sight of my project for a completely different reason... I'm back on track now but might be to late to bring her to the silver springs show...
Mother-in-law passed away a few months back unexpectedlly and its just been screwed up around my house. Ive got a new motor and trans in the car and only need about 2hrs of work to get it fired up but just can't get in the mood.
I believe I spent the last 15 years or so picking up just about everything that I will need to get the car done but motivation was something that I still lacked, until recently, and you can't just go out and buy it either.
this stupid cold weather doesnt help any either im that close to having the mav on the road but then we get this winter crap im still going to drive it yet this year.carpets going in it tomorrow then seat and finally the shifter then i can drive it. p.s. mavmike you can do it just get out there and get it done then you can tell us all about how good its running.
Wow. How simular. I finaly got to begin sanding on my car and have everything to get it into primer so I can get the headliner in and the dash, glass, interior etc etc. I was all stoked, then the inlaws came and stayed almost two weeks. I rested and am still resting . Besides, it's kinda cold. These are my excuses and i'm sticking to them
Its very easy to stay motivated when your Maverick is your daily driver and its not running... but then their is still the money problem that gets in the way and freezing temperatures
I have not lost track of my goals for the maverick,I have been slowly gathering parts, I know its put up for the winter now ,and I still have to take apart the parts car ...so I have stuff that can be done ,but they are 60 miles from my house so its a little bit of a pain to work on them, but with my budget I have to do a little parts gathering and a little working on it at a time.
