i finally got some paint on my car!irrodecent ford green with flake in it.theyre shooting the jams, under hood and under trunck lid. the color is f%#*ing perfect just by looking at the jams.just the right amount of flake, which i think might come out alot more when we get to larger areas on the car.i gotta get the color of the pinstripe that ran down the side.its a goldish yellow color.i saw one on the site and i cant find it again.i didnt have my camera with me but i will tommorrow.i finally get the sidepipes back also after being rechromed.the guy does alot of bike work and reasured me that the rechroming will hold up to the heat and not turn that pretty shade of blue.its just the 1st bend i gotta worry about.dammit i love chrome!!i need input on something.i modified the grill to have the center emblem, turnsignals and badge.something ford never offered but some guys have done by acouple of post ago i saw.my question is since i painted the grill black should i paint the the inside of the headlight bezels black as well leaving the outer edge chrome and that skinny ring that goes around the headlight chrome as well?

[IMG]i'm kinda thinking black grill running into silver/chrome headlight bezels needs something to break them up.i dont know what year they started adding the black to that roughed up portion of the headlight bezel.jeez i hope i got my point through.theres the chrome that meets the hood chrome and then that skinny round ridge that surrounds the headlight.i'm so far over my skis with this resto i just wanna try not to screw anything up.i really appreciate the input

I just shot my Comet grille black, leaving the horizontal three bars silver like on a Comet GT. Then shot my headlight doors just like you described, leaving the inner and outer rings chrome. It looks just like what I have always wanted this to ultimately be.

I say shoot 'em black. I think it integrates the headlights into the styling of the car better that way... tones them down a smidge. If you don't like it in the end, they would be easy enought to re-do.

I will have pics of this eventually, but the car is blown apart right now.

PS ... Chicago Hts, eh? ... I grew up in Itasca and Addison.
