If I get a fuel pressure regulator for a fuel pump does the regulator need to have a boost reference nipple? I see some regulators that are straight regulators and I see some that are boost referenced.
Yep! They raise fuel pressure on a 1:1 ratio when referencing boost. That's the best way to go. A wide band o2 sensor is a very good idea for tuning as well. Thought about something afterward when i read your sig. Are you running a mechanical or electric fuel pump?? If it's an electric, hopefully something like an A1000, then go boost referenced reg. I've had good luck with the Aeromotive stuff check out the 13202 regulator. If you decide on the boost referenced mechanical pump then I'm of no help. Don't like them, don't know much about them.
i cant see mo needing a boost referenced regulator. hes running a draw through carb so the fuel bowls will allways be exposed to atmospher and not need the fuel pressure to change.
You are correct in a non blow through setup (what he plans on using) there is no need for a boost referenced regulator.
