Heater core needs changing

    does anyone have some info and pic's on how to change a heater core

    mine just started to leak a very small amount should i put some stop leak in it ???

    my car is a 72 mav 302 and no AC

    that is an awesome article, however you dont have to take the whole box out for replacing the heater core. just remove the clamps around the edge of the box, remove the hoses, pull out the old core, put in the new core, put on the new hoses, clamp back together. DO NOT use stop leak....

    Dont forget to pull out the package tray first...Soo much easier that way.

    Remove the hose from the engine and pull the hose out with the heater core or you will get the carpet wet. Might as well replace or rod out the heater core now...the stop leak ruined it.

    thank god i don't have to pull the whole thing out i looked at it and i will be doing it this week

    Its not that hard to pull and install the whole 9 yards. It will be easier to work on it out of the car than standing on your head

    yup i fixed it today in about 1 hour and i got the heater core for $30 with a lifetime warranty SWEET
