    Don't crush your radiator cap!
At least those are cheap. Yes this has happened to me. I finally get it to charge and it over heats. I install a shroud and then a vacuum hose dies so I start taking the engine apart looking for the trouble(like an idiot). Now I have to get it all back together to go to what might be a job tomorrow and it's raining.

Having 4 or 5 things go wrong for every 1 thing that goes right is pretty much normal for me.

I dont know that it will ever be fixed... the only way my car will be fixed is to buy a brand new 347 engine out of the summet catalog and call it quits:tiphat:

That's the story of my life! Murphy and those stupid laws of his are constantly at play around my house...

The best thing I can tell you is when things like that happen, put down the tools, walk away for a while to calm down, and come back only after you don't feel like breaking or burning what you are working on.

Also, always remember that a thrown wrench, hammer, etc. will either need to be chased down, will hit and break or ricochet into and break something expensive, or scratch something expensive to fix.

I just reinstalled the PS pump, brackets, fan belts, pulley spacer and fan, shroud, radiator, trans lines etc. Awesome.

Now I get to wrestle with the lower radiator hose...not so awesome.

Well what do expect from cars as old as ours are.....I'm old and broke down now from doing a complete brake job, rebuilding the carb, bleeding the brakes changing the tires...and still need to put on an exhaust manifold gasket :yikes: in addition to getting death threats from the wife cuz I spend more time with the car then I do with her :dizzy:just so I can drive it more than a few hundred yards, all in this week plus working my other 2 jobs to support my car fixins!
    Soooooooooo

Only thing I've done recently to mine is put a new float in the carb. Hard to complain, the carb did lay in the woods for 25-30+ years. I've put 1,300 miles on the car in the past 9 days.
