hey everyone, my name is frank im 18. when i was 16 i bought a 72 ford maverick grabber for 300 bucks. my plans were to make it a street/strip car. once i decided on what to do. i put together a 351 windsor shortblock. then at 17 i had to go to college so i bought a 90 supra turbo to get from point a to point b. well i fell in love with the japanese beast and started road racing and drifting. well a few of my friends have just finished there project cars that they started when i had bought my maverick. ones a 12:1 comp 302 mustang and the other a 71 383 crate engine chevelle. after all the trash theyve been talking about the supra, the maverick bug bit me again. so its time to whoop some butt in the old mav. since ive been out of the loop for so long, i wanted to know if theres an easy solution for 351w headers in a maverick. the last time i looked into it was 2 years ago and the only thing i came up with was choping the shock towers. a guy i know had some custom ones fabbed up for his mav but they were 1,200 bucks and were of very poor quality. should i just go with manifolds? any help would be appreciated. im very excited to finally finish this project and go beat some sense into these guys!

    Welcome back to the Maverick.

IMHO, you'll want the Hedman 1-3/4" primary tubes (p/n 6208-1) for your Windsor. I don't know what else you've done to the car (suspension/safety, compression, carb size, intake, exhaust, etc), but it sounds like you might know what it takes to get the horses to the ground (E.T. Streets or Drags). Also, I dunno if this is street racing or drag strip (hopefully the strip).

Do a search on "Hedman" and you should find the information needed.

    Good luck.

thanx for the help. and yes its an auto, a friend of mine has an AOD that he claims to have "blown up" with the "tremendous" amount of power that his 306 mustang is putting out so he let me have it cuz he said it was junk and that i would never get it to work. so i opened it up and turns out that he put the shift kit in himself and didnt do it right. so now i have a perfect tranny and just have to put a new shift kit in it. ignorence is bliss :)
