I have a 1979 302 that came out of an LTD i need help because i have a four barrel carb so i would need to buy a four barrell intake manifold but i want to get rid of the egr valve how would i get the four barrel carb with an 4 barrel intake manifold with no egr valve.
What kind of carb do you already have? If it is a standard flange Holley or Edelbrock you will just need an aftermarket intake manifold such as a Edelbrock Performer.
Yes i will need an aftermarket manifold but do i need anything other than a new manifold and the carb i have to get rid of the egr valve and if that is the case do i have to buy a special manifold that does not require egr or something.
i live in illinois so i dont think so but i will get rid of the egr anyway because i live in rural Illinois
Buy a non EGR intake.Just remember you are going to have to eliminate a few vacuum lines. Many of which come off of or go to PVR switches on a 79 vintage SBF.Be certain you dont eliminate anything you may need to keep it running properly. If you have no emissions laws...Just eliminate it all (carefully)and run only the needed vacuum hoses...(Timing adv dashpot/AC/heat controls If your mav has A/C that is,ETC...)
also there is an air pump that has hoses (that are part of emission control) that go into the head how do i get rid of those
I believe Ford racing sells the threaded plugs nesecarry to close the holes in the heads from the air pump.PVR= Ported Vacuum Relay. They are usually located in a water jacket on the intake or in the T-stat housing. They allow vacuum to flow to components once the engines coolant temp opens them up.
