Need some help on my daily driver 72 Mav. The driver's door handle on the outside isn't working, so I pulled the door panel off to investigate. The "door latch actuating rod" is not connected to the door handle. Looks like there was a plastic piece that connects the two but it's broken. Is this right? I haven't had a lot of time to look at it. I looked up door handle kits for a 67-68 Mustang (supposed to be the same after searching this forum) and it doesn't look like they come with the new plastic piece to connect the rod. My main question is does it connect with a plastic piece and if so where can I find one. Thanks for the help guys!
If you have a good one on the other side, take a good look at it and head off to your local auto parts store. Look in the HELP section and you should find a pack of different size connectors that one in there should work for you. If not, check with the sales droid behind the counter.
