Well, the wife's Maverick needs a valve job because I turned it over after the timing chain slipped. I replaced the chain and sprockets but I have a bent valve now. I have to move it up into the driveway and then pull the heads. I am going to need at least one valve and may just replace them all. I have the tools to grind the valves and seats so I will do that myself. The only thing is I mat need some help with getting the heads off and in the garage - my back is going to be hurting badly while I am doing this. If you can send some helpful thoughts my way I will be happy but if there is anyone who can actually help with the work I will be in your debt.
I can relate to the back thing. Sure is nice to have guys help out. No way I could lift those heads out of the engine compartment. I have an apprentice at work that is a huge help at work and at home if I need him. I'd send him over but the plane tickets a bit much. I'm sure you can find some help to get those heads off. Trust me guys its a good idea to help the tranny guy.
If i lived close i would come help but i dont im sure somebody will help i know somebody is needing a trans rebuilt.
My best friend moved to a sub of Seattle (Kirkland) like two months ago. I have been thinking that maybe he could swing by your shop and saying hi for me . Actualy I have wanted a trans from you IF/when mine acts up, he could bring it to me when he gets tired of the cold lol. I could put a bug in his ear and knowing exactly where your at might help. He might be close enough to consider, or far enough to laugh at me.
If you need an apprentice, a shop helper, full-time, how much can you pay? I would quit my job in a second for an excuse to move back to the pacific northwest and work with cars...
When do you plan on doing this? Let me know.... I'll give you a hand... I need another C-4 trans done up for my 70 Grabber... LOL
tell ya what, bring it here to the house and ill do the labor if you'll help me with the trans build lol
