purple maverick motor pics

    well here are a couple more pics of todays progress.got headers bolted up and radiator installed put the pully set up on and alternator,fan,plug wires,carb,aircleaner.thats it for today.

    Looks great (y) Although it might have been easier to clean/repaint the engine compartment before you put the motor in :p

    But I dont know what your intentions are with this car, so I cant really say anything, I am jealous though, wish I had the money to do that. :D

    jeff this is just test and tune got to make sure everything is good to go before i pretty it up this winter. im going to pull the motor back out and por 15 the engine bay plus all body work will be done too. i have a heated garage to work in all winter at my parents house.

    P.S. i had to sell alot of other toys to do this but thats ok its worth it.

    Kinda weird that your car being a 71, has a purple engine compartment, it should have been black...???...Maybe being special order it was different?

    oooh ok, yeah I just came back here yesterday, so I havent followed your progress.

    I dont have a garage to pull mine into, Ill be doing mine in the cold this winter...lol

    i thought that mavericks up to 1973 had the engine bays the same color as the body.just thought i heard someone say that on here.but any how im going to do mine black i think it will set my motor off even better than the purple bay.

    darren i think it will i have already done my gas tank with the por-15 an it did an awsome job so im going to try it on my engine bay.

    thanks gene now my wife says i should paint it factory purple.J/K but she did tell me that.
    im still going back and fourth about the engine bay
