I have a 79 LTD that i want to install in my 1973 maverick. I see that the 79 302 engine has way lower horsepower then the late 60s 302. How to i get my hp of my 79 302 back to what the late 60s engines had.

to be honest your going to spend a lot more money than going to the junk yard and grabbing yourself an 85-92 mustang motor

Yep, you need better heads, cam, intake, more compresssion. You'd get all that with a Mustang 5.0 motor...

If you insist on the '79 motor on a budget, find some GT40 iron heads, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Holley 600-650 cfm carb, headers, Comp Cams mild cam of your choice.
