Yea. It is a tool box you asked about. I kinda look at my trunk as one anyway. I once had a Corolla that I kept a starter and a alternator and belts in the trunk. I have passed the car to my mom and they are still there. I would say they have about 8 yrs and 150k on them riding back there. The most valuable part you would probobly want to carry in a Mav/Comet is the points or module, maybe a solenoid. Those fit in the tool box.
If your buddies have bowties, ya better carry a tow rope. I carry an assortment of band aids with me, cuz if I'm working on something on the side of the road, I WILL bleed.
A Water Pump / Alternator belt and a Radiator Hose repair kit wouldn't be a bad idea along with the already mentioned ignition parts and band aids. A small roll of wire and electrical tape could also be handy in a pinch. -Scott H.
what ever spare parts you carry will guarantee that those parts on the car will not brake. thats murphys law at its finest. there is a quick hose repair tape at autoparts stores that would be good to have. a gallon of water/coolant is good to have. spare belts, a starter solinoid, spare fuses, and a can of fix a flat. those things are good to have and wont take up much room or weigh to much.
