    Hi Everybody!

I'm thinking about to instal a EDELBROCK PRO-FLO2 FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS on my 302.

Does anybody have intalled one of these? Does It add a lot of performance to your engine, does that wore it? Is there something equivalent to that, something cheaper, something that adds more power.. blablabla!, etc, etc????

    Thanks to everybody!

    Haha! Funny!

Yeah I've heard about the one of Holley. But for now I want information about the Pro-Flow from Edelbrock.

The pro flow 2 sequential kit looks like a nice product but awful expensive.
I was just glad to see that its not throttle body injection. I wouldnt waste money on a TBI set up. That system was obsolete in the mid eighties for a reason. Short of the mixture it has no benefit over a carb. Still has the same crappy fuel distribution as a Carb. What about a factory set up???

i would pice toghter a mega squirt system. its not expensive, its very flexable so it can do just about anything. lots of online support.

Do you meen like a Mustang 5.0 Fuel Injection System?

And what about the 4-bbl Throttle Body Fuel Injection System From Holley, any comments about that?

See post 4. TBI is a waste of money. Very little gain over a carb. You still have the same fuel distribution through the intake with a tiny gain in the TBI with the fuel atomization and mixture over the carb. If the TBI was free I would consider using it but I wouldnt buy it.. Like I said you have to remember that TBI was obsolete in the mid to late eighties. Its archaic technology and was a band aid for emissions till the multi port / sequential EFI systems took over. It doesnt justify the cost to install TBI over a carb. A fully programable Sequential system though would have huge benefits over a carb assuming you could tune it properly. Its an awful lot of money though compared to a carb set up. I am a bit biased though since I fix EFI and new car nightmares all day so I love my carb and my simple Mav. Its my escape from the world of technology.

there is one advantage in that TBI still auto adjusts when going from sea level to 12k feet and back down. not something i would pay for with a 302 instead of going with something way better including factory setups, but if you are modding on a stock or aftermarket carb manifold you can make a TBI work. this actually starts to really be price competitive when it is an FE motor or something even harder to get parts for (do they make injection setups for y blocks?:hmmm:)... just a thought.

Good point wouldnt have thought of that one. I live on the mountain here as we call it but its only 3or400 feet high. No 12k footers around here. :)

there are lots of ways to efi the car. it can be done for well under $1000.00. you can get most of every thing you need from salvage yards. the only real things that you need to do custom is the fuel lines. you can use stock stuff or you can use stuff like the mega squirt. http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/tech_articles.htm this site has some great how tos. they have a throttle body conversion (i agree its hardly worth doing a throttle body but it gets you started) that is most sourced from salvage yard stuff. once you get the computer and wireing in, the fuel lines in you have the foundation to expand to mulitport down the road.

oh and the manifold used in the proflow is a victor jr. its a high rpm perfoming manifold. its not the greatest for fuel economy and street driveing.
