Just got new disc brakes so I will be installing them soon and getting the maverick back on the road. Anyway, here is where my question lies. When driving the mav, it seems that I often have the pedal on the floor just to keep freeway speeds (65) However If i go pull the throttle cable inside the engine bay I can hear it revving up WAY higher then it will with the pedal. What do you think the problem might be.

have a friend push on the pedal and check if its gets full throttle // it's probably the cable or the pedal

is the cable good // on mine it has a bracket that bolts to the intake and it mounts to that then it runs to the carb the arm that hooks to the carb has like a built in spring pop the arm off of the carb and see how far the arm moves forward it should only move a lil bit past the carb linkage // if it moves to far past it will bottom it self out befor you get full throttle // to fix this just bind the bracket that mounts to the intake back // if it's not what you have post some pic's

If all else fails, Auto Zone sells an adjustable universal throttle cable bracket. Either Spectre or Mr. Gasket, not sure. Look on the chrome aisle across from the skull and sticker aisle. I've used them with good results.
