Took the car down and had the shaft balanced. Seemed to take away about half the vibration.

 

check or just change the trans mount. they are known to colapse and change the oprerating angle of the u-joints.

What do you mean by changing the operating angle?

 

no thats the crossmember. the mount goes on top of it. you should be able to get one at any auto parts store.

 

My 86 F-150 does the same thing but it's at 30-35 mph!!! Along with many other problems it has......

 

I will look at that trans mount because after further driving it turns out balancing changed nothing. I guess I just wanted to think it did. Vibration does seem to be coming from the trans general area.

 

Changed the trans mount now its smoother than ever. Thanks bryant.
