Will the hood and front quarter panels from a four door Mav fit a two door Mav? We have a 1974 2 door Mav.
If it's a big bumpered Maverick your taking the parts from, it'll be a direct swap. If it's a small bumpered car (71-72) there will be some differences in the fenders.
70-72 fenders were the same, 73-74 fenders are the same and the 75-77 fenders are the same. Only difference between 73-74 and the 75-77 group is the headlight bucket and the way you adjust it. The 73-74 have adjusters on the side and BOTTOM, and the 75-77 have them on the side and TOP. Then the only other thing to be concerned with is the side trim, no trim, skinny trim or the wide LDO trim. And that would be no holes, 10 holes or 9 holes in that order. For Mavericks that is. Comets had a high line skinny trim instead of a beltline skinny trim like the Mavericks. That's about all I got to say about fenders. Richard
Uh oh, why do you need to change all that? This the same one you brought to the Dixie Maverick meet back in 2006? That car was so nice and original.
I guess I did didn't I?? I was sticking with the big bumper stuff and forgot to mention the reason why and how the 70-72's were different. OOPS!! Yes, that is an option, only 9 spot welds to drill out on each bucket assembly for a total of 36 drill outs and 9 spots to weld in for a total of 18 welds. Better solution is to just use the correct headlight bezel to gain access to the adjusters. OR take the bezels off, adjust headlights, put them back on, and viola! rk
Why make it all so complicated......I thought I'd answered a simple question, with a simple answer? Even after he answered and said, it was a big bumpered Maverick....
