I just noticed my insurance card laying in the kitchen, and the VIN on my Maverick ends in F108000.

Is there anything special about this?

Only your Maverick was made before 10801 and it was the 800th car to roll of the assembly line

That would be the 10,800th car from that factory.

Remember your car is as unique as every one else's. LOL

Yup, I lied. It is 108,000
    Not 10,800.

    Full VIN is 4K91F108000
Anyways, lots of zeros. Wondered if it was the first of something or another.

Well, your VIN is relatively easy to figure out now. :p 4*91F108000. The star is either K, X, W, or F. Don't know why people get so caught up over that. The VIN's to all my Mavericks have been posted on here multiple times. It's like the people who blur out their license plates before putting the pictures on the internet, don't they realize thousands of people can see their plate while they are driving around everyday anyway?

OK, I printed the entire vin in the above posts.

I know someone on here has listed what each digit is for, I need to look that up and just "understand" what my VIN tells me.

    NEXT question...

How many did they make in 1974?

This one was purchased on 9/21/1973 from LaPorte Ford in LaPorte, TX. How many "1974" models were made and sold before 1974 even rolled around?

Buy a Marti Report, it'll tel you everything you want to know. I'm kinda surprised you didn't know any of this yet...
Wow, I was close with my guess, I was off by the X, should have been a K, but it could have been a F or a W :D

I never cared about the VIN, until I saw all the zeros, then thought "wouldn't it be cool to find, and be able to say, for example, I have the first V8 in production for that year with vin 000"!
