steering ball joints for a 1970 ford maverick

    hey guys the guy i just got my car from told me i need the steering ball joints. is that the Upper Ball Joints or the lower ball joints or some thing like that.????:huh:

    I wonder if he meant the tie rod ends?

    You may need to just replace them all, if they are all the stock joints.

    Get under there and take a look...

    Growing up, we called ALL of the steering connections "joints", so that included the true ball joints at the top and bottom of the spindle, then I think there are two "ball joints" that connect the tie rods or connecting rods to the centerlinkg, then one more ball joint on the ends of those where they connect to the spindle.

    So, get under there and count exactly how many there are, and be sure all the balls are in good shape.

    ty ya the guy i got the car from is older soo. any whys Im going to go look at it all this weekend and see what needs to be done. :cheers:
