I was reading a post on Power Windows and it mentioned there was an article in Short Horns about converting the manual regulators to power regulators.

Does anyone know where I can find it on the web or have a copy of it they could scan and send to me?

I'm honestly wanting to seeing how they did it before I spend the cash on an aftermarket system.

    Thanks,
    -Scott H.

You may need to join the MCCI (Maverick Comet Club International) to get the article. Your not suppose to share any info in the newsletter with anyone unless they are a member. Of course there my be someone who may break the rule.

    Cool, I had no idea.

With a newsletter that contains articles like that, it'll be worth it.

    Thanks for letting me know,
    -Scott H.

    Hello Scott:
I have two Comets that have functioning power windows. I'll soon be placing the information online "free" for anyone wishing to make the conversion. We used a Mustang power assembly and had to modify a couple of things before it worked as we wanted them to. They are a joy and I'll be at the NPD All Ford show in Ocala, Florida this coming year (God willing) if you are in the area and want to check them out . My conversions utilize a stock window crank handle to activate the switch to raise or lower them. From all appearances it looks as though there is no change to the interior . I did it this way to eliminate the possibility of a "hole" in the door panel that has to be covered .Thats the fun of it . I always get a reaction when I demonstrate them at car gatherings. I can't remember who emailed that to me awhile back. I want to say Mavaholic but I may be wrong. I believe the conversion used a Taurus window motor.

I have converted all tech articles that have appeared in Short Horns to PDF files. Some one tell me how to put a PDF file on here and I will. In the mean time, give me your address and I'll send it to you. It was one of Tom Hackmans concepts. I made a set for my Comet, works great.

Dennis, you can attach any pdf file the same way you attach a picture to your post.

Max file size is 347.7 KB. If it is larger, it needs to be hosted onto the web and a link can then be posted for the file location.

Hey join the MCCI, it's not too much, $20 per year if i recall correctly and you get 2 MCCI window decals, your membership for a year, a membership card, 6 issues of Shorthorns, you can send in pictures, articles, stories about your Comet etc, etc, etc. They will print them which is cool to see, they print the stuff i send in all the time and remember i'm from Canada so i'm sorta far away which they NEVER use as an excuss to not print my stuff. The MCCI newsletter (Shorthorns) is printed 6 times a year and you can order back issues with your membership or start new in January. I will tell you honestly that i love getting this newsletter every 2 months, it's my little piece of Maverick/Comet heaven every fews months. And no i'm not really hooked up with the MCCI in some business sense just a plain old member, the only guys that i have met from the states that are on this board is Dale (Sorry don't know the last name) and that crazy Hotrodbob (Cool guy because he gets Canadian humour) so when i tell you that the newsletter Shorthorns in my opinion is worth every red cent i really do mean it.---------- O.K. hold on here......... i just needed to stop to catch my breath:eek::whew:......... o.k. i'm good now.

I actually am in the process now. I have the PDF file already but can't print it out to send back in until I go buy more printer cartridges.

If they had an online registration / payment method, I would be signed up yesterday! (y) I looked at their web page and couldn't find one.
