my buddy ran a boss 302 in my mav when he raced it no cutting of the shock towers but i do remember him saying it was a very tight fit.shock tower braces were gone when i got it also dont know if they ran without them or just removed them to take out the motor.
Definitely pics of a Boss 302! I had one, along with the entire 70 Boss Mustang. Unfortunately Katrina put 4 ft of water over the top of it so I wound up selling the complete car. Had too much going on from the flood to have to worry about saving it. Wish I still had it now though. Anyway, I hope you keep it and get it in that Maverick! Keep us posted if you do. Good luck with it!
Its slightly narrower, has 302 deck height. Those canted valve heads are going to make headers an interesting project.
I believe mustang and maverick 302 headers are the same correct me if Im wrong bt, if that is the case then the headers that came on it should work
It will fit....but like a couple of others...I'd consider selling it. I don't know what you have or what you need but you might get a nicely built standard 302 or even stroker that would run circles around a Boss 302 and a paint job for that motor. Both of these cars have Boss 302 powerplants.
That second car belongs to a member on this board somewhere, he's in MI too, and I'd say convert the car to a 71'-72' front bumper, and stick the boss 302 in it, make a Comet Lil' Eliminator???
Mustang headers will NOT work in a maverick/comet.Windsor engine headers will not work on canted valve cleveland style heads. Sorry dude...
If you look at headers for an early model mustang with a 302 there the same hooker super comp number as a maverick and the 351C headers for the two are the same so I would have to imagine the Boss headers would be the same Both the maverick and early mustang have very tight engine compartments.
thack (thackman) has one in his car, he did a completely custom front suspension and removed the shock towers. that may be the one madgoon saw since he was at knotts this and last year.
