Anyone have any pointers for removing the rivets that hold the plastic cover over the seat belt mechanism, 74 -77 the ones in the rocker panel? Trying to rebuild one using two. I tried to drill but they spin and burn the plastic. KP

Try a dremel tool with the "round sandpaper tube thing"

It seem like the round plastic covers pop off, and a torx bit is all that is required to get the assembly out. I don't remember any rivets on mine('74 model).
Can you post a pic of the rivets that you are talking about?

The rivits are used to hold the plastic to the seat belt assembly.
