I traded my 750 Edelbrock for a 600 Holley. The Edelbrock was newer but far too much for my stock engine, the 600 seems far more suitable for what I have in mind for my drivetrain. 4 barrel carb & intake, headers, torque converter, cam, dual exhaust.
I agree on the good trade. 750 is way too much for a stock 302 or even a good bit more than stock. If you are not familiar with them Google tuning a Holley or even buy a book on them. Not very hard to do the basic tuning on them and get them running great. clint
This carb was on a warmed over 351 in an F150. Daily driver with no get up and go. He said if I give him $30 he'll give me 2 Flowmasters off a 5.0 Mustang as part of the deal. Then all I need is flexpipe and I'll be back to driving my sexy car instead of the gas sucking pickup. One day I am going to get those headers on.
I don't care a bit for Flowmasters but that is just me. I have 2 later model Mustang GT mufflers, the piping that goes over the axle and chrome tips I'll give you. I am a couple miles North of Charlotte. I run Hooker Aero-Chambers on my truck and love the sound. Have had several people ask what was under it because they heard it run. I wonder what gear that warmed over F150 had in it. Should of had some get up and go with a warmed up 351. Unless it had some compression though a 750 was a bit large for it also. Heck I am running a worked over 1850/600 Holley on my 460 in my 71 F100. I tried a 750 once. Tuned on it until I got tired of it but the 600 always ran better. It is not a hot rod though. It is a low compression engine with, headers, Performer intake and an RV type cam. Surprises many kids in the area with their Hondas though. I don't street race but will leave a light a little quick once in a while. lol clint
PM sent. I'd be more than happy to grab some mufflers from you. I need them to make my car street legal, the 4 bbl intake and cam are merely fluff. The most important thing is being able to drive it, the rest can come later.
