I paid $650 this year to have my c4 rebuilt with all new racing parts. The last one, before that, I had done was $400. That one was done by a guy who worked at a tranny shop and did some at home as a side job also.:)

Thanks for the suggested prices. I now know that my guy is trying to overcharge me and I will have to take it into town to get fixed (into Houston, and not my podunk little hometown suburb).

Build them yourself guys. It is the easiest auto tranny to rebuild from what I hear. I did one and it worked just fine. Spent $300 for a 500hp rebuild kit from Jay at Broader Performance and called him a couple of times with questions. I bought a book also. Really not that hard and no special tools to buy if you are handy.

Broader is driving distance from me, sorta.

I am looking at a fresh rebuild in Houston, that I can drive on without leaks and worries while I get the old one built up for speed.

my b&m kit came with a book also.i watched my friend do it. didnt look to hard but since my friend said he would do it and has a ton of exsperience. to bad you couldnt find a tranny guy to do it on the side.

If all you want is a basic rebuild then do it yourself.
It is easier than building a 302!
If you want a performance C4 then it is a lot more work but it will shift better and last longer.
