Hello everyone, new member checking in. Name's Eddie. I'm active duty Air Force stationed in Okinawa, Japan for the next couple years. I'm a car enthusiast of all kinds, foreign and domestic. But I have a special intrigue to classics. My first car I bought back in 2000 when I enlisted was a 1970 Mustang Coupe. And the second was a 62 Fairlane 500. Dream car was a 1970 Boss 302. So I spent a lot of time researching Ford. Interestingly enough my neighbor owned a Maverick. In any case, that's the only exposure I've had to them. Long story short, I've been mostly into GM over the last few years, but lately the Maverick has been "calling" me. I've been doing quite a bit of reading on them, and I like what I see. That's why I joined up to the site. Hopefully when I get back to the states one day, I'll pick one up. Do a nice grabber blue, with Mag 5's, and a healthy 302. Nothing fancy, just a nice ride. Anyway, I appreciate all the work and dedication you guys have for your cars. Keep it up. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum. My wifes nephew is in the Air Force and will be heading to Okinawa in a few months.
Thanks... Mav, I'm from New Orleans, La. Born and raised. Maverick.....that's quite a coincidence. If your nephew needs anything when he gets here, or even before, tell him to give me a call. Staff Sergeant Eddie Moses, tel# 504-708-4223 (that's a vonage number, so it would be a simple long distance call for him.)
Welcome Eddie; How's the island paradise of Okinawa? I was there back in the 70's, and I enjoyed it. Take care, and thank you for your service to our country!!!
Welcome aboard Eddie! :Handshake Nothing wrong with a Grabber Blue Grabber!!! We got a few of them around and it's definitely one of my favorite colors. I'm not too far from you when you get back to New Orleans. Let me know if you need anything.
Hello Eddie, from West Virginia I spent a few years on the Rock back in the Seventies -Torii Station I dont know what its like there now but Scuba diving, Jungle exploration, Motorcycles, and BC street accounted for most of my time. I bought the only 69 camaro on the island off the "Lemon Lot" where all the service guys took there cars to sell before they left. Loved the place, it is what you make of it. Caution Mavericks are addictive. Theres not much these guys havent covered topic wise and it seems everyone has a few spare parts in their garage. Kevin
