Well I got me some "new" wheels and tires on the car, Centerlines and BFG radial ta's that put down over a 12" footprint on the rear,so I went to the Strip.
I did get me 2 wins...both over 5.0 newer model Mustangs, they just can't hang in the first 300 ft. If we were running a 1/4 mile they probably would have won as they were closing fast at the finish line.
My problem is my 60ft. times still suck as I'm still having to feather the launch. I went to the track early and walked the start lanes and it is a very sticky area. The tires heat up pretty good, I bring my launch RPM's up to about 2000 and stomp it and the backend starts to come around on me:mad:
My best 60ft. time was a 2.12 and I "know" with a good hookup I could be around 1.6
Any ideas, sorry for the rant...gettin a little frustrating.
Here's some pics of the setup

Time for a set of E.T. Streets, Nittos DR's, or BFG Drag Radials.

    or tune down..... NOT!

You can probably drop .4 - .5 tenths off your 60' and more in the eighth.

Remember, all it takes is money! :bananaman

    BTW, the wheels/tires look great!

Geezus Rick, was I just stupid in assuming that having that much rubber on the pavement would take care of the hook-up problem?

All I have to say is ET STREETS! Had them on my Fairmont and it hooked really good, felt like it wanted to lift the front of the car up when I launched,it would have if I had more power. Then when I had street tires on it,it had zero traction whatsoever,a night and day difference.

    Welcome to my world!
    I get a 2.45 60ft. and run at 102.5mph (1/4) @ 5400ft. Only good for the 14's :(

It's been said before, but ET streets are a good choice. Your car looks very nice :)

I really like the new look Riporter! Looks Great! Was wondering what you were gonna do with the Cragars? What have you done to the rear of your car to get that size tread on the ground? I know it's a nine inch, but out of what, and what springs etc......Thanks man. And again, it looks really good! Pretson

    Nice

Looks great with the new rolling stock Rick!
It's the compound of the rubber that is giving you hell with it though.
I'd keep an eye out for a set of 9" slicks and put them on your old wheels to bring when you go to the track.

Thx for the comments and advice ya'll.
Preston the Cragars are going back on for the street for the time being...the rear Centerlines are a 5" bolt pattern and I have to run an adapter plate on it right now, the plate is about an 1-1/2" wide which causes the tire to stick outside the wheel well, which I don't like...so I'm gonna get new axles are have the plates redrilled...not sure yet. I really like the look those wheels give the car though.
Ray I'll probably put some stickies on the Cragars eventually once I get the centerlines tucked under there like I want them.
Frank this drag racing is just to have some fun with the car...my family gets a real kick out of it ...and so do I for that matter, the car will always be a street car.
My family was there in force last night along with some friends.
My Dad said a buzz went throught the crowd when I pulled in to the lane matched up against a 68' Camaro...this is classic stuff. I had been puttin down .6 or better reaction times all night
Unfortunatley I decided to fall asleep on the green (1.48) and lost by less than a car length.
One thing about this dragracing it puts you in tune with the car.
I find myself talkin to her when I'm when Im staging in...plz tell me I'm not the only one that does that:D
