just under a yr ago i put a new 2 row replacement radiator in, hooked up to my old motor. lately i've been overheating so much; after a 15 min cruise i pull in my driveway and my overflow is just dumping out, and my breather caps are just steamin away. until i get a fresh block in there, i have to make due with this one. when i put my yellow coolant in, it quickly turns rust color. so today i flushed the system with my garden hose until all was clear. i noticed large rust chips lodged into the tubes in the radiator, all of them . talk about restricted flow. does anyone know how to break down these chunks? help!!

Try one of this cheap back flush kits from the auto store. You splice a T into a heater hose, warm up the engine and use the garden hose to back flush it if it's hooked up right. Might flush some of the rust out

they have a...radiator flush...you pour into the radiator and it eats the rust...it came out looking like mud.
    worked on my boys truck

sounds like the block is where the slush is needing to be flushed out of and its filling your radiator. the backflush kits should help but make sure you get the following water flush super clear to remove the major majority of the flushing fluid before putting in the new coolant...

Were you running anti-freeze or straight water?
