Hey Guys..I was just looking at a "70 Maverick today and thought I might get a few thoughts as to if its worth while or not. The body (2dr) looks good(nice red paint) with minimal rust. The Engine is a 200cid and runs super(130,000miles) the Interior is in pretty good shape except for a crack on the dash and a tear in the front bench. under hood it has rust around the tower on the pass side. the fuel tank leaks. It has a hole in the trunk beside the shackle(which I don't like at all) the front brakes are seized..but it does have Centrelines with near new Radial T/A's(14", 4 bolt pattern). The guy is asking $600 but(about $400us)but is open to offers. So is this a waste of time or a deal? I'd really appriecate some thoughts....I told him I'd call back on Wed and let him know.

I think if it was me, I'd snap it up! Doesn't sound too bad at all! Just my opinion though. And as to what that is worth, I dunno  Country

If he's open to offers, offer him 3 or 400. He'll probably meet you somewhere in the middle. It's a running vehicle, so a good deal for that kind of coin.

Sounds like a good find! (y)
Just check in the usual areas such as the cowls, torque boxes etc.

Thanks for the advice everyone...I offered him $400(about $300us) and he took it. I crawled under it and had a good look and its really in pretty good shape...not tough to repair at all. The fuel leak turned out to be just a rotted through line. Anyone looking for a project? I'll get some pics posted on Saturday. Thanks again!
