Well, not exactly dead, saw this on my travel back home today. We stopped and asked if we could help, it was just overheated and zipped by me 20 minutes later (Come on, I was in a 4 cyl Escape!). First Maverick or Comet I have seen just cruizin on the road other than mine in over six years. Good stuff! Not sure what to make of his rear bumper but neat to see another local Maverickteer.
wow, six years? I would have never thought I'd see them back in Los Angeles but I saw sum from time to time.
I have had mine since 92 and have seen less than 10 on the road besides mine, only 3 grabbers, I have a Judge and a 55 crown and never see one of them either on the road in the last 20 years
I saw one for sale a few miles from me, I checked it out just a little rust but for $700.00 a good buy for someone. Other than that I bet it's been over 20 years.
Last one I saw in our area was mine when I parted it out 15 years ago. After that the next sighting was a year and a half ago when I met Larry.
Never seen a maverick in my town but theres are to drag cars in my town. that are mavericks he has over 600 cubic inches in one of the cars
only maverick i've seen recently is a yellow one on the way to tunica. looks to be a daily driver. other than that, i seen one up in branson many a year ago. my first maverick sighting. i didn't know what the heck it was, but i liked it. it was brown and had the maverick on the trunk with the steerhead in the v. can't remember enough detail to tell ya the year and i didn't look at the hood.
I live in Los Angeles I Don't know anyone out here that owns a maverick Do you by any chance know anyone
well, i gotta change what i said. i seen a red 4-door big bumper mav in conway today. it was at an intersection but there was another car in between us and it. it had trim along the body line and was missing a piece on the driver door. thats all i could see of it. we were going straight through, it was going from right to left. i wanted to follow it, but i was with the family and i wasn't driving, so i got vetoed. Then we saw a perfectly restored 57 Chevy on the way home and i got some pics of it.
Random sightings are cool. Ever since my dad had to sell his Maverick 20 years ago ( he had made 1 too many baby seats to fit in the rear) I had NEVER seen another Maverick or Comet in Calgary. I was telling my buddies this while giving them a ride home last week end and what do I see? A guy with a sweet SWEET 70's comet pull into the 7-11 parking lot right behind me in immaculate condition, dark blue with a big 'ol hood scoop and a engine that vibrated my brains out my ears. In retrospect I really should have parked my car right there and asked him what he had done to his (from what I could see, he had done alot) My goal with my car is to get it as nice, if not nicer than his. Damn it was nice.
