Just purchased a 70 Maverick that was a 6 cyl car but had been transformed into a 302. It has been sitting for 2 years. I was planning to do the brakes this weekend but when I removed the drums I found the previous owner had done it already. The car came with new front springs (not installed) because the previous owner removed the old broken ones. On inspection I couldn't help but notice all the dried and cracked bushings and ball joints so I plan on replacing the old front suspension and steering parts. I have found some Maverick parts on ebay and many for Mustangs and am wondering if they are the same. They sure look the same. Any help? Anyone know of any other places to buy suspension parts? Thanks, Don
You can get all your front end parts at most any parts store. Auto Zone had all i needed in stock. Ball Jts, bushings etc.
Thanks for all the welcomes, :Handshake To answer your questions............ I live in Webster Ma but was born and raised in Brockton. I served in the US Navy out of Newport RI and owned my own 12V business for 28 years with two retail stores, one in Webster and one in Cumberland RI. I sold the business 7 years ago and now drive for Keystone Automotive delivering speed and truck parts/accessories through-out New England. I buy and sell cars on ebay as well as my own website (AMSVS.NET). I bought the Maverick to fix up and drive to the local cruise nights. I should have it in good driving condition in 2 to 3 weeks. After that I'll chip away at the body and all the rest of the stuff that needs attention. I will post a couple of pictures of the "project" soon. Thanks again, Don
I live about 25 miles from Old Forge, Pa. where Joe Amato's family started Keystone Automotive and A & A Auto Parts years ago. Amato sold the business a few years back but still has a connection to it.
