Hello folks I'm starting a new club in West Coast Canada for Maverick and Comet owners of the years 1969 to 1977, this also includes Americans that live near the Canadian border that would like to join a group of men and women with a common interest. The group is the Maverick /Comet group Canada, sadly this group is NOT affliated with the existing MCG in the U.S
We hope to evolve into a family oriented group and take part in show and shines, cruises, meet and greets and racing our cars.
To begin this process, I have started a facebook group and for now there will be no dues or membership fees to join the group and you can join the facebook group anytime without actually committing to the MCGC itself.
I hope many of you will join so we can get together and come up with ideas to further our common interest as I do not believe there are any group activities at all in our area. Thank-you, Jimmy
P.S. Please do not respond to this thread if you are going to respond negatively as I would really like to get this going and negativity takes away from that goal.

Since you have just got this started and its just getting on its feet, would it be too much to ask for you to change the name?
I figured with you being a mover, shaker and make things happen kind of guy that you would be a little more creative with the name of your club. Its almost embarrassing that you could not do any better than that
    I mean come on.....its a little bit of a stretch; isn't it :D

I was just figuring that a true, upstanding, law following, great guy like yourself would be worried that your mcg-canada might accidentally, falsely be thought to be in association with any established group that you yourself labeled as childish.

I would have went with something like 'The Canadian Maverick/Comet Association', or something to that affect so that one is not steeping on anyone else's toes. Im a supporter of the MCG myself but i think the "MCGC" is just a little too close in name to not be affiliated. it's almost like copyright infringment (sp.) but that's just my thoughts. no hard feelings :Handshake

Jimmy, good luck in whatever direction you decide to take with the creation of any old/new Maverick/Comet club in Canada. I would have to agree with Dave and suggest that maybe you would be better leaving all of this drama behind you and create a name exclusive to your Canadian group.

This would be your chance to come up with something really cool and all brand new. :thumbs2:

This facebook group was started so WE here on the West Coast could interact with other maverick/comet owners and get together to organize events, share knowledge etc. I believe this is exactly why this forum was started. Why post if you don't have anything worth saying? For those of you that are interested in Maverick/Comet get togethers, please join. For all others, get a life and go on with your day, my goodness, you are all adults aren't you?
