thats a nice 4-door. if you had got this a while back, i might have bought it when i was lookin for a 4-door. maybe if i can work a lot of overtime at work i can increase my corrall to 3? nah. i bet someone will beat me to it. I still gotta pick up the 4-door in florida, but come next friday, i'll have my first paycheck with 9 hours overtime added on so i'll be able to pay it off and have a little extra money. nice find and a not bad project.

If the roof is full of pin holes, the car is junk. Fiberglass is no way to fix it.

I say keep it, man. i've seen much worse, and im trying to restore much worse, lol. its not like it'll hurt you to keep it. you can always sell it later if it becomes too much for it. if you get rid of it now, you may end up regretting it. well, never mind. you'll have 4 other mavericks to ease you through the pain if you regret it. but hey, its your car. if you wanna sell it, it'll make someone a nice starting point i think.

If it has pin holes (you said about 25-30 i beleive), I think the rust runs further than you can see....especially since it was under a yinal top. That rust has most likely spread far more than you think and thinned out the structure of the sheetmeal on the roof. I could be wrong. Any of our bodywork guys/gals want to chime in on this one.

If he is just gonna drive it, whats the big deal?
If its a DD who cares if it has some rust...ok, alot of rust?
Not everyone can afford a nice DD and we (people) do what we have too.
Ones person's junk is another person's treasure.
And since it is a big bumper, 4 door, 6 cylinder car with lots of rust......what parts would be good for a parts car?
Is there anything on that car that would be worth parting out and not just continue to drive it till it dies :)

John is right! That is the mentality of the cash for clunkers programs. As long as the car is not dangerous to drive due to the rust or other defects, why not drive it until it wears out? There is not really that many parts there that can't wait a while until they're harvested.....and not that many that would be used on the more popular 2 doors. I say fiberglass the pinholes, throw on a cheap paint job, and drive it until the wheels fall off! Great first car for a teenager, cheap, dependable, and when they wreck it as most teenagers will do, it's no great loss. It then becomes a parts car! :D:tiphat:

yep. I really don't see much in this car but if you want to fix it, I would make a daily beater out of it. I would put as little money in it as possible though

If you like it I'd keep it. Probaly not much to be made on parting it out
