I'm putting in the 9" rear end. Did the subframe (pictures in a few days). Was going to slide the leaf springs in and have them remounted to add a 10" wheel and tire... After some more thinking and seeing that I was already spending money  ... decided to go with ladder bars. My problem is that I'm having a hard time seeing a 10" tucked up in the wheel well without allowing me much room for clearance. I'm going to mini tub it and roll the fender lip in but, I still don't think I'm going to have enough room to have a safe clearance.

I noticed in alot of the pictures I find of memebers cars, about 90% of you have what looks like 8" or smaller tires or wheels. I'm starting to see why. I don't want to back half the car with a 4 link.

From your guys' experience, is there a reason most of you go up to 8 wide? I know I could make it fit with the tire and wheels sticking out but, I want to tuck them up and inside. For the guys who are using 10" tires and wheels, what are you doing to make these fit tucked up under the wheel wells slightly?

    I want a 10"... am I heading for a dead end?

    I am running a 275-60-15 DR, I believe the tread is 10.3". It fits with a 15 x 8.5 4 7/8bs with a "slight" spacer. Scotty P

I'm running a 9" thats about a quarter inch narrower that the stocker, an 8" rim with a 4" offset with 295-50-15 which is about 10.5" across and have no problems whatsoever but of course I did have my quarters rolled. My pic is not very good(sorry its dark and stormy out). I can post a better shot tomorrow if you'd like...

I've fit 275/50/15 Drag radials, with an 11.3" section width. Veyr tight, but they fit without scrubbing. You need the perfect offset to make it work.

We talked to ALSTON Chassis today and they actually turned us away with the ladder bar set up we thought to go with. They STRONGLY recomended that we go with the CAL-TRAC traction bars we were talking about a few weeks ago on here. ALSTON told us that they knew of some cars running in the 9's with CAL-TRAC's.

We planned on a small mini-tub... so we are now going to take out the axels we had and shorten the rear end and reorder axels to fit the way we want. I'll have some 31 spline axels if anyone is interested. Brand new, never used YUKON's
